Giveaway Winners and Freak Snow Storms, Oh My!

I'm back! First, a huge thank you to my awesome (and freaking beautiful) critique partner, Leigh Ann for her fantastic guest vlog on Friday while I was still in the throes of internet-less hell. If you missed it, go check it out!

So on October 29th, Connecticut got walloped with a freak snow storm that left the majority of us without power - in my town, 100% of us. Since that meant no heat and no running water, my husband I were staying with my parents and I had to delay choosing winners from the 200 Follower/Blogoversary Giveaway.

The wait is over, my friends.

Without further ado, has helped choose the following:

The winner of The Body Finder Series by Kimberly Derting is:

Kayeleen Hamblin!

The winner of the Nightshade Series by Andrea Cremer is:

Maggie Hall!

The winner of Rosebush by Michelle Jaffe is:

April X!

And last but not least, the winner of Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher is:

Congrats ladies! Please e-mail your info to me at gina(dot)ciocca(at)yahoo(dot)com and I will get your prizes on their way!

And now some photos that will make you very glad you weren't living in Connecticut these past two weeks!

What autumn is supposed to look like...

... And what my backyard looked like after the storm

Giant branch hanging in the power lines outside my house

Giant branch in the street in front of my house

Tree hanging over the road in my neighborhood

Tree in the road in parents' neighborhood

That's someone's mailbox in there. Look closely.

Powerlines tangled in fallen branches - safe and fun for all!

  1. We had that freak snowstorm down in Pennsylvania, too, and I have a friend in central PA who was left without power for days. I'm not sure why this storm did so much damage to our power infrastructure -- there wasn't much snow! Was it the wind? (I do recall seeing it blow sideways.)

  2. 0_o Freak snow storm, INDEED.

Thanks again for hosting me. :)

    Congrats to the winners!

  3. it's been insane right? We still have a huge branch hanging on power lines in our front yard... but at least power is back.

congrats to all the winners :)

  4. We had snow last week, but not that much. That's suppose to come while I'm gone. :D

  5. Surviving the fury of Mother Nature with only an inconvenience is testament to how very fortunate we all are.

Congratulations on surviving this past storm.

    Congratulations to all winners.

  6. Scary storm!! So glad I won though, I'll email you :)

  7. Freak storm for sure! Glad you are okay.

    Congratulations to the winners!

  8. Wow, that storm must have been awful! Poor mailbox. I hope your fall gets better weather soon!

  9. Wow. That storm must have been crazy! We just got our first snowstorm of the season in Southern Utah, but it was much gentler here.

Thanks for hosting the contest! I'm super excited for those books. I've been wanting to read them forever!

    Congrats to the other winners!

  10. Crazy storm!

And huge congrats to the winners!

  11. Eep! Yay! I never win anything!

And that snowstorm is ridiculous. Holy crap.
