or
and of course:
**Be sure to leave me your e-mail address in the comment so I can contact you if you win! Winner will be announced Monday, September 10th.
I'm so excited for the new blog! Looks like a ton of fun. As for what makes me a misfit...
ReplyDeleteI'm 26, and know every word to each song on One Direction's "Up All Night" album. And I may or may not have sang and danced along to "One Thing" while in the grocery store with the kiddo the other day.
Yeah. He's gonna have fun once he hits the teenage years and I'm still dancing in the grocery aisles to boy bands.

What makes me a misfit... Hmm...
ReplyDeleteI think most of my current wedding plans are misfit-y. We have a Doctor Who cake and action figures at the bride and groom settings. And Firefly references in our vows. :)
Congrats so much on the blog launch!
OMG this made me LOL (in really good way). If I could do it all over (wedding day) I'd so go less traditional and make it more personal. Darn southern expectations of weddings.
DeleteSo excited YA misfits is live! So what makes me a misfit? I'm a huge nerd! I'm a 30 y/o aerospace engineer, that reads strictly YA and MG books. And I write YA and MG in my free time :) Plus I'm likely to spout nerdy things or make scifi references at any point during the day :)

Ooooh, a Kindle and an Amazon card up for grabs??? This is perfect for me, because I was the misfit kid who wanted to stay in and read instead of going outside for recess and now I'm the misfit mom who brings a book to my kids' soccer class! Just what I need--MORE TO READ! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited about the new YA Misfits blog, congrats on the launch!
ReplyDeleteI also sing and dance REALLY loud, but not just when I'm alone. My kids get to see it and hear it too. While I'm cooking, cleaning, in the car... it's bound to get embarrassing for them as they get older.

The launch is epic. Love it! I'm a misfit because I'm older than my friends but refuse to 'grow up'(and I love it) and because I write adult in a YA world. Also - I have mad dance skills that I'm always willing to share, even in the most inopportune places. *does sprinkler dance* This list could go on forever, by the way!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the blog launch!!
ReplyDeleteI sing ALL the time. I also tend to talk to myself when no one is around. Which can get interesting when someone IS around and I'm not aware. Does that count? :P

I've been looking for some new blogs to follow. Today I've hit the motherload. Yay! Congrats on the new endeavor and best wishes.
ReplyDeleteWhat makes me a misfit? Stimulants make me crazy. Caffeine and sugar turn me into a hummingbird on speed. So I'm a novelist who can't drink coffee or eat chocolate. Occasionally I do. It isn't pretty.
I'm the messy misfit. (just because you can't find something doesn't mean I can't!)
ReplyDeleteThe one who does things her own damn way. I've never done things the typical way, so don't expect me to. I don't always fit in, but then again, I don't always care.
Thanks for the give away! You guys are pretty awesome.
Well, as my husband just found all my high school yearbooks, I can definitely say I'm a misfit. LOL. I also used to use my hairbrush as a microphone and dance around my room as if it were my stage. I've come to the conclusion that I'm not all that different than I was in high school. :)
ReplyDeleteFirst off, congrats on the new blog, it looks super cool (well, for a misfit that is) ;-)
ReplyDeleteSo what makes me a misfit you ask? I actually think it's perfectly normal to play the air guitar at red lights and command my kids to pick an air instrument as well. They thought it was fun when they were three and four...at thirteen? Not so much. lol
I love the blog name and can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteI am totally a misfit because I sometimes buy 2 copies of books, one to read and one to put on the shelf so it can remain pretty, and also because I return books to the library unread.
I remember every book I've ever read. I have over 6000 comic books and I learned to program so I could design a database to track them. Oh yeah, I'm a writer and librarian and got my Bachelor's degree in Music Theory. Yeah, I'm weird.
ReplyDeleteI could probably come up with some more but I haven't downed enough caffeine yet. :D
I'm a misfit because I'm a girl gamer and girl ice hockey goalie! :) Awesome stuff, Gina! Love the Misfits!
ReplyDeleteI am huge Hanson fan. Yes, the three brothers that sang Mmmbop. When I was thirteen I traveled up and down the east coast to see them on their tour, and I've seen them on every tour they've done since (as recent as Oct 2011). I love them too much to be ashamed lol, but it's definitely meant I've been a misfit for fifteen years.
ReplyDeleteThe new blog looks super fun! Congrats on the project :)
ReplyDeleteI'm a misfit because I love college football and graphic novels. (Except that I suspect a lot of people like those things ... oh well, guess I'm not as unique as I thought ;))
Congrats Gina!
ReplyDeleteIt's been such a fun day watching all the success for YA Misfits!
I'd say I'm a misfit because I'd rather stay in the classroom than go out in the world and get a "Real Job". Seriously, I'm addicted. Three degrees in and I'd keep going, but the loans are like WHOA!
I've followed your blog and the YA Misfits. Can't wait to see all the awesome weekday posts by you lovely ladies!

I'm a misfit because I've never been in a real library in my life (school ones don't count). I've never lived close enough and I'm too lazy to get a library card anyway. I just buy my books. ;D
ReplyDeleteI don't like coffee...That's considered misfit behavior by everyone I know. I get the urge to sing when I lay down to sleep at night... I would walk down the hallways in school with my nose in a book (yes, reading it)... I could go on, but those were the first three that came to mind!
ReplyDeletelissajean7 (at) gmail (dot) com
Im a misfit because I used to be a gamer and am still a bit of a techno. And read way more than anyone else I know.
ReplyDeleteGFC follower on both
bachus76 at myself dot com
I'm a misfit because I don't eat fruit...any type of fruit.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the blog launch!
ReplyDeleteI am a misfit because (other than the constant reading and being a general nerd) I was always the quiet one. I'm shy, rarely talk to anyone (unless I feel very comfortable with them), and freeze up in many social situations. I guess writing is my way of communicating.
Thanks for the giveaway!
Congrats on the blog launch.
ReplyDeleteWell, I am 38 and I still sometimes watch MTV. If that doesn't make me a misfit, I don't know what does, haha.
I am the "hagergirl" comment above - I forgot to include my email address.
ReplyDeleteEmail: hagergirl(at)yahoo(dot)com
The blog is fracking awesome, congrats on it!
ReplyDeleteI have an obsession with the song "She's like the Wind" by Patrick Swayze, so much so, that I karaoke it every time I go out and do very bad karaoke. But I win, like a boss, all the time!
Followed on both blogs!
ReplyDeleteI'm a misfit because I don't have a sweet tooth. It makes ordering dessert awkward when out with a large group of friends. And it made college roommates distrustful of me, like I was a weirdo non-girl or something.

How am I am misfit? Let me count the ways...
ReplyDeleteI am a nerd, that is addicted to all things sci-fi, unabashedly loves Jane Austen, and I am a guy that cannot get enough of romantic movies.
I am LOVING these answers, guys! @lissajean, I don't drink coffee either!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see who snaps up the gift card on Monday! :)
I dress like I'm going to the gym almost everyday because I'm too lazy too actually dress up :P
ReplyDeletehwasunshine(at)gmail(dot)com
I'm a misfit because I can watch a movie once and have all the lines practically memorized. That and I get waaaaay to excited in a bookstore or when a new Doctor Who episode is on. Yes, I do have a sonic screwdriver. It's great at opening doors. Except wood.
ReplyDeleteamanda.burckhard(at)gmail(dot)com
What makes me a misfit is always saying the wrong thing. Following both
ReplyDeletefencingromein at hotmail dot com
I'm definitely a misfit among the moms I know because I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter, Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. I've also been known to belt out cheesy ballads by Air Supply while I'm cooking!
ReplyDeleteFollowed and Followed
ReplyDeleteOh goodness, what DOESN'T make me a misfit. I have crazy dyed hair, piercings, tattoos. I'm one of those moms who TOTALLY doesn't fit into suburbia so I get raised eyebrows everywhere I go. I've also been known to have heated arguments OUT LOUD with my characters. It's hilarious.
Followed both.
ReplyDeleteI'm a misfit for loving 90s and early 00s pop music as much as I do, and not liking a lot of current stuff. You don't want to see how much cheese is on my iPod.
This reminds me of the song on Rudolf the Red Nose Reindeer TV show: "We're a couple of misfits."
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new blog.
I'm such a misfit, I don't know where to begin. I'm even a misfit of misfits.
Sounds interesting! I've tagged you in the 'The Next Big Thing' meme on my blog :)
ReplyDeleteNew follower here and will head over to misfits in a minute to follow there. Sounds like loads of fun!
ReplyDeleteI'm a misfit (according to my family!) because I am obessed with the colour purple. I buy stuff just because of the colour! I also hate coffee, which is considered 'odd' by most people I meet.
I'm a Misfit b/c if I could choose any decade to be a teen in, it would be the 80s. Seriously big hair, wild clothes, punk to hair bands? What's not to love?? I am so jealous of anyone that got to wear a pale blue poofy dress to prom. Footloose anyone? (AND NOT THE REMAKE!) I am so in need of a time machine. ;)

The Misfit blog is awesome! Congratulations! I follow here and at the Misfits via GFC- Daisy Richeson.
ReplyDeleteI am a misfit, and proud, in so many ways. I act like I am way younger then I am, I'm a little bit crazy, and like you, like to sing and dance around to very loud music.
