I was reading a book by a best selling author, but just wasn't getting into it (no romance either). I read to almost page 100 before deciding I'd had enough. I have tons of unread books on shelf, and this isn't even mine, so I don't have to read it. I didn't spend any money on it.

So I abandoned it for something else. Something that's a page turner at least. I prefer books I can't wait to read. It just wasn't happening with the other book.

*hugs* hope your week is better. Read them again. Isn't it comforting to read words you know will bring you happiness?

Don't you kind of just want to read TWILIGHT right now? And really, what could it hurt?

I've been having trouble with new books disappointing me lately, too.

Here were my faves from the summer:

HOURGLASS by Myra McEntire (romance *everywhere*)
POSSESSION by Elana Johnson (kickass romance)
BREAK by Hannah Moskowitz (sweet romance from a boy's perspective)

And there's always one of my fave romantic standbys (one of my "I don't want to read any new books" books) - GRACELING by Kristin Cashore. It's fantasy, but not high fantasy, and the romance is INCREDIBLE.

(((HUGS))) to you. Sounds like a rough weekend.

And happy birthday to Dom! You guys are stunning.Leigh Annhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15827971896088856057noreply@blogger.com
